Online Appointment Booking System for German Embassy and Consulate General in South Africa,“Intergate Visalink“, is responsible for scheduling appointments for visa applications for the German Embassy in Pretoria and the German Consulate General in Cape Town, South Africa.
Intergate Visalink welcomes you in using its services and draws your attention to the following:
i. Please note that whilst Intergate Visalink has been appointed by the German Embassy and Consulate General for the appointment making process, the visa assessment and decision making process is the sole responsibility of the German authorities.
Intergate Visalink has no influence on whether a visa is issued or not; what type of visa is issued or its period of validity; number of entries and duration of stay. Such decisions will be solely made by the German Embassy and the Consulate General in accordance with Germany's relevant laws and regulations.
ii. Applicants are required to pay a service fee to Intergate Visalink, regardless of approval or disapproval of his or her application by the Embassy and the Consulate General. The service fee is non-refundable and is currently ZAR 82. This is not the visa-fee chargeable by the German authorities. The visa fee is the equivalent of € 60. The fee has to be paid in cash and in South African Rands upon application (for exceptions please see requirements/information sheet “Visa Fees“). Please check the website of the Embassy and the Consulate General for the current amount.
iii. In order to facilitate the assessment and processing of your visa application by the Embassy and the Consulate General, please ensure the following:
You have prepared all the documents that are required and ensure they are genuine and credible. All documents, application or declaration forms, any invitation letter, your passport etc. need to be signed and dated.
Complete in full the visa application form with true and accurate information.
iv. Please note that the German Embassy and the Consulate General has the right to request additional supporting documents during the application process.
v. Visa applications should be submitted sufficiently in advance to ensure that the processing and issuance of your visa can be made in time for your planned departure date. You would usually be required to apply at least one month prior to your intended date of entry into Germany.
vi. Once a visa has been issued please ensure to carefully check the details of your visa for correctness.
If you are collecting the visa in person and have any queries concerning your visa please contact the counter staff immediately.
If your passport (containing the visa) is to be couriered back to you and you have queries concerning the visa please contact the Consulate General directly.
vii. Please note that you will be responsible for any consequences arising from the following:
Being unable to travel due to your visa becoming invalid either as a result of your own actions or any act by a third party acting on your behalf
In the event that you are refused to board an aircraft or to enter Germany due to your failure to check all the information printed on your visa including your name, birthday, nationality, your visa's number of entry, period of validity and duration of stay as well as the number and validity of your passport before departure for Germany
Your visa cannot be used due to other reasons of your own account.
viii. In accordance with relevant laws of South Africa, Visalink shall take any precaution necessary to ensure the safety of the applicant's personal data and documents, but it shall not be liable for any consequences due to events or acts beyond its reasonable control such as natural disasters, unforeseen accidents and robbery (Force Majeure), etc... , which may occur when the information and documents are in transit between Intergate Visalink and the German Embassy or the Consulate General.
ix. If an applicant chooses to request for his appointment by telephone, or requests return delivery by courier service of his processed application, Intergate Visalink shall not be responsible or liable for any delay, delivery to a wrong address, or damage to or loss of the documents as a result of negligence by any mail service or company.
x. Where confirmation of the appointment is not received it is the applicants responsibility to ensure they follow the steps outlined in the following link/page to make an appointment, http://www.visa-germany.co.za/appointment.html.
xi. A confirmed appointment may be rescheduled once only. Notification thereof must be provided 48 working hours prior to the appointment date, by contacting the callcentre on 0861 002245.
xii. Intergate Visalink may at any time amend or vary the terms and conditions.
xiii. The above terms and conditions shall be governed by the law of South Africa.
xiv. Applicants agree and confirm that they have read and understood the terms and conditions prior to submitting appointment applications to Intergate Visalink.
xv. Detailed description of goods and/or services:
Intergate Visalink cc is an outsourced service provider that provides an appointment making process and all related functions.
xvi. Delivery policy:
Subject to availability and receipt of payment, requests will be processed within 3 days and delivery confirmed by means of a reference booking number.
xvii. Return and Refunds policy:
The provision of goods and services by Intergate Visalink are subject to availability.
xviii. Customer privacy policy:
Intergate Visalink shall take all reasonable steps to protect the personal information of users. For the purpose of this clause, "personal information" shall be defined as detailed in the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000 (PAIA). xix. Payment options accepted:
Payment may be made by Visa or MasterCard credit cards or by bank transfer into the Intergate Visalink bank account, the details of which will be provided upon request.
xx. Credit card acquiring and security:
Credit card acquisition transactions will be processed for Intergate Visalink by PayGate (Pty) Ltd who are the approved payment gateway for ABSA South Africa. PayGate uses the strictest form of encryption, namely Secure Socket Layer 3 (SSL3) and no credit card details are stored on the website. Users may go to www.paygate.co.za to view their security certificate and security policy.
xxi. Customer details separate from card details:
Intergate Visalink will store Customer details separately from their card details which are entered by the client themselves on PayGate’s secure site. For more details on PayGate refer to www.paygate.co.za
xxii. Merchant Outlet country and transaction currency:
The merchant outlet country for those using the card payment option is South Africa therefor the transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).
xxiii. Responsibility:
Intergate Visalink takes responsibility for all aspects relating to the transaction included in the sale of goods and services sold on this website,i.e. customer service and support, dispute resolution and delivery of goods.
xxiv Country of domicile:
This website is governed by the laws of South Africa and Intergate Visalink chooses it as its domicilium citandi et executandi for all intents and purposes under this agreement, whether in respect of court processes, notices, or other documents and communication of whatsoever nature.
xxv. Variation:
Intergate Visalink may, at its sole discretion, change this agreement or any part thereof at any time without notice.
xxvi. Company information
This website is run by Intergate Visalink CC based in South Africa trading as Intergate Visalink CC and with registration number Reg No 2009/082867/23.
xxvii. Courier Service: Applicable for the Cape provinces only
Please ensure that you have allowed sufficient time for the return of your passport. A charge of R30 will be incurred should the courier service be cancelled after the service was ordered and a refund of the courier fee be required.
